Our shoes are handmade in Italy of the finest leather and suede. Mostly we use vegetable dyes, for aesthetic as well as environmental reasons. To give your shoes a long life and lasting beauty, please follow our guidelines below:

Head to the cobbler with your leather soles

When it comes to extending the life of your shoes, preventive care can do wonders.

Leather soles will expand when wet. Avoid wet conditions during the first few wears of your new shoes. In the event that your leather soles do become very wet, ensure that they are allowed to dry out slowly and naturally, away from direct heat (i.e. radiators).

The soles are also made of vegetable dyed leather. To make them last longer, let a professional shoemaker attach a thin rubber sole and change it when worn out.

Leather uppers

Leather uppers require regular treatment with a good-quality wax polish to protect the leather and give a high shine finish. This should help to prolong the life of the uppers and maintain their appearance. The shoes should be dry before application.

If soiled, please clean them with shoe cleaner on a damp piece of cloth, wipe off and let dry. Leather shoes can often take a day to dry out fully whether from rain or natural perspiration.

Where possible allow a day between wears and alternate with other shoes. Using wooden shoe trees in your shoes will help to absorb moisture and maintain the shape of the shoe as they dry out.

Leather and suede are natural materials and have the characteristics of such, like marks and insect bites. Therefore your shoes may apper differently in there pattern of the skin. They will age in a beautiful way when used and light or natural color will darken.

Suede and Nubuck uppers

Can be treated using a ‘Suede Protector’ spray. A rubber suede brush can help to lift any dirt and debris, however, stubborn stains may necessitate treatment with a suede shampoo. And here’s a tip: suede can often be ”refreshed” using steam from the kettle and gently cleaning with a rubber suede brush.

When traveling, slip your shoes into their own dust bag when you pack them. It keeps the rest of the packing safe and allows your ATP shoes to travel in style and comfort, just like you.

When stepping in and out of your shoes, open the buckle to make it last, also use a shoehorn to increase the life of the heel.
